How can I place an order? 

Go to our Shop tab on the menu and shop away! You can also:

Can I order online?

Sure!  You may send photos/details to us for pricing at info@thecakestore  and we will answer asap. Once we are sure we know what you want, we will send you an order confirmation with all the details.

Is a deposit required when placing an order?

For orders below 200chf we don't require a deposit. We trust you!

​

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept TWINT, Bank transfer and cash of course.

​

How far in advance should I order a custom cake?

The earlier the better, we suggest at least 5 working days.

​

Can I make changes to my cake after I order?

You can make changes a week before your delivery/pick up date.

​

Refund/Exchange Policy
We take pride in our desserts and cakes. If you are unhappy with your order and/or purchase, immediately notify us (within 24 hours ) of your concern  We retain the right to judge our product quality for ourselves & determine the amount that can be refunded. All refunds will be provided as in-store credit.

Order Cancellation Policy
The Cake Store understands that plans change and we will gladly assist you in making changes to your order date and time whenever possible. We accept weekday cancellations by phone +41 (0)78 625 76 08 or email (info@thecakestore.ch) , 1 week before your event. All changes must be handled directly  with a representative of The Cake Store and confirmed. The Cake Store  reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee if insufficient time is given, as stated above, due to costs incurred in the purchase, priority and preparation of the order. Charges for cancellations after the above time will be as follows: 75% of the entire order will be charged for cancellations 72 hours prior to the event and 100% of the entire order will be charged for canceling the order after that time. It is entirely up to The Cake Store discretion, to change or otherwise offer any other options to the customer.

Do you make cakes for people with allergies?

Yes, we call them "special diet cakes". We make egg free, nut free, dairy free, & gluten free and vegan cakes. These orders need to be placed at least 1 week in advance. There is a surcharge on the price.

On a nut free cake however, we will include the remark that "they may contain nuts". We cannot promise cross contamination won't occur.

Can I get a different flavour for each tier of my cake? And a different filling?

Yes, you may ask for different flavours and fillings for each tier.

Do you make Styrofoam “dummy” cakes for display?

No, we do not do this unless it's imperative.... but 99% of the times we don't. 

​

If I bring you a photo of a cake can you make it?

We can not recreate cakes exactly 100% but we will do our best. We will use any provided photos as inspiration.

Can I order a cake in the shape of a character/figurine for a few people?

All of your shaped cakes must have a starting serving of 25 people. There is a lot of time put into creating a custom shaped cake although you may think less cake less to decorate, it actually takes the same amount of time or even MORE time when making something small.

Are all of your cakes filled?

No, you can also order a plane sponge cake. Normally this kind of cakes are for small kids. If you want to find out about our yummy sponges please visit this link:

How many fillings can a cake have?

You have a choice of one or two fillings in each cake you order. If you want to find out about our yummy fillings please visit this link:

Do you put edible photos on cakes?

Yes we can put photos on cakes, cupcakes & cookies. But as we outsourced our printings, we kindly ask you to place your order with at least 2 weeks in advance.

Do you do roll fondant covered cakes?

Yes we can cover cakes in fondant as well as buttercream or chocolate ganache.

​

What color fondant can I cover the cake with?

You can do any color of the rainbow. Creativity has no limits at The Cake Store!

​

If I order an special diet cake can I cover it with fondant?

You can put roll fondant on top of gluten free, dairy-free, egg free & nut-free cakes.

​

How far in advance should I order a cake with roll fondant decorations?

Any orders with 3D fondant decoration must be placed at least 1 week in advance. Although the earlier the better!

​

Why do you need so much notice for fondant items?

Roll fondant figurines can not be done in one day. Over a course of a week or even more the figure has to dry so more can be added to it. We can not put an unsteady fondant figurine on a cake. All completed figurines need to dry for at least 2 days when completely finished.

Do you deliver?

Yes we do deliver. Delivery prices are on our Menu Tab "Location". Pick up is only available in Adliswil (8134)

​

When do I need to pay my balance?

We kindly ask you to pay within 10 days of pick up or delivery day. After 30 days we will have to send a reminder with 10chf fine. sorry! 

​

Should I keep my cake refrigerated?

Most of our cakes can sit out in a cool air conditioned room for up to 3 hours any longer than that we suggest refrigeration with the exception of whipped cream and raspberry mousse cakes they should most always be kept refrigerated.

​

Do you sell give away/party favors?

Yes! We have plenty of options/ideas for your event. Mainly, our customers like to do decorated cookies. We can match them to any theme or colors you have along with your party. Check our specially dedicated website about cookies.
